What’s new
New features and improvements in Audio Files Prep. Latest first.
The app gets its own page
October 27, 2026The tool now opens on its own page at audiofilesprep.com/app, using the whole screen, so there is no more scrolling between the presentation and your files.
- ImprovedFull-screen workspace. The file list, player and tabs fill the browser window. Keyboard shortcuts work as soon as the page opens.
- ImprovedNothing to set up again. Your categories, settings, theme and saved folders are kept.
Launch
October 26, 2026Audio Files Prep is live: a free tool to prepare audio libraries directly in your browser, with nothing uploaded.
- NewLoop creator. Repeat a seamless loop to a target duration or a number of repeats, with an optional fade-out. Silence at the loop edges is removed automatically, cut points snap to zero crossings, and you can drag the loop start and end handles, check the junction in a ±15 ms zoom and listen to the loop point before creating the file.
- NewBefore / After preview. Listen to the current file trimmed or normalized and switch between both versions at the same point in the sound, before anything is written.
- NewLoudness normalization. Bring every file to the same perceived loudness (LUFS, EBU R128 / ITU BS.1770) with a look-ahead true-peak limiter.
- NewTrim leading silence. Sample-accurate and lossless on WAV and AIFF, with adjustable threshold, pre-roll and fade-in.
- NewBatch rename. Remove prefixes, find and replace characters, change letter case on hundreds of files, with a before/after preview and protection against duplicate names.
- NewRename while listening. Each file plays as you select it; type a name, press Enter and move on. Category prefixes stay active between files.
- FormatsWAV (16, 24, 32-bit), AIFF and MP3, with MP3 files re-encoded at 320 kbps, gapless and with their ID3 tags. M4A, FLAC and OGG can be renamed and analyzed.
- PrivacyEverything runs locally in Chrome and Edge. No upload, no account, no tracking. Saved folders are remembered on your device so you don’t have to select them again.
